Maybank Debit Card (VISA) - Review

Well it's not a good quality picture but whatever right? As long as you get what I mean =) It's the Maybank VISA Debit Card. I had just applied it on Friday to try out for REAL whether the card can be used to verify PayPal or not, just to stand along side with those bloggers who agreeing that Maybank Debit Card could not verify PayPal.

Still some of the readers still saying maybe it can, now I would like to tell every readers that it is TRUE (110%) Maybank Visa Debit Card COULDN'T VERIFY Paypal!

When I tried to verify it, paypal system stated that they could not find the debit card number despite that Maybank Debit Card has an added advantage on yearly fee, which is FREE. But to vain as I could not use it to verify and have to keep on using PB debit card.

There is a new PB Debit Card which is under MASTERCARD, the annual fee is free. Not sure if it can be used to verify Paypal but I will try it soon just to make sure for all the readers =) Cheers.

So guys don't waste your time applying Maybank debit card to verify paypal now ....

Have tried it in jan & even today, was getting the same damn message, here:
"This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer's customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card."

FYI, it was clarified by maybank custcare, i won't till end of april but no specific date. so keep trying ya....

any good debit card that can really work with paypal instead of Public bank Mastercard?

Well beside Public Bank Visa Debit Card there are other 2 I know that can allow you to withdraw money from paypal. But for sure PB Visa Debit Card is better and create less hassle.
~~ Al-Rajhi ATM Debit Card
~~~ TuneMoney VISA Debit Card (maybe not that good)
These are the cards unable to use it for PayPal withdrawal. I hope soon they will.
~AFFINBANK Debit MasterCard
~~ Ambank NexG Debit Card
~~~ MOL Freedom debit card
~~~~ Alliance Bank International Debit Card
~~~~~ BSN Matix Visa Electron

if you're can afford credit card then you won't have these problems :)

thks elite,
got rhb my cash-i this morning then went through the successfull paypal card registration... hoila! it really works...

just RM15 annually, noting else. simply deposit RM100 for opening saving account, instantly get your card and access online account info for free.

@Gregale :
Seriously they all require us to pay an annual fee like my PB debit card its RM 24 annual unless i spent RM 1200 with the debit card.

I see a new PB MASTER debit card is out but I have not tried it yet, the annual fee is waived so probably it can be used to replace PB VISA debit card. I'll try to get hold of such info ^^

Anyway congrats now you can start to receive and withdraw at paypal. Any new business going on that I can join? hehe

hmm...sure cause i have the maybank debit card, it could not be used to verify Paypal. I believe Maybank has to make an agreement with Paypal otherwise users will not be able to have that privilege...

GOOD NEWS FOR MAYBANK VISA DEBIT CARD USERS!

I found a solution for the problem you're mostly having which kinda sounds like this the minute you try to link it to your Paypal account:

"This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer's customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card."

Need to resolve that? Just follow these simple steps:

1. Log in to your Maybank2u.com account.

2. Once you're on the dashboard, click on the link "Maybank Secure Online Shopping (MSOS) Registration" under the Utilities section.

3. Once you're redirected to the new page, you'll be able to see your Visa Debit Card number displayed.

4. On the page, you need to enter the MSOS Password. ATT: THIS PART IS IMPORTANT! Enter a NEW password which is different from (not the same as) your current Maybank2u password!

5. Fill in the other particulars and submit.

6. Now you're good to go! Get those things you've always wanted to buy!

GOOD LUCK FELLOW SPENDERS!

@SamSeiko

Oh, not yet. Only after that you'll be able to register to any PayPal-like accounts and get involved in online transactions with the card. Sorry for the missing step (:
