What a Great X'Mas =)

1 commented

To celebrate Christmas with family is a great way!! It's cute when you're at my brother's age (age 6) doing all the silly faces, try doing it when you're 23!! Well I'm not that daring...

Of course, in Xmas we can't left out the presents right? So I brought him to Toy Stores! The first thing he saw was these toy cars, you know kids right? Regardless of how many toy cars in the house, they still want more and more! Well that's what I seen from the other kids begging their parents to buy while my brother wants the BIGGEST vehicle from the shelf....The Big Green Lorry.....

In the end he did not get the Big Green Lorry, instead he gotten himself a giant present :P

MERRY CHRISTMAS 2010 =)

R.I.P Oracle Paul

0 commented

Paul the octopus had predicted all eight games in World Cup results accurately especially the Germany wins and Final! Paul's fame skyrocketed during World Cup, there were even a lot of youtube videos on Paul which outnumbered Paul McCartney search results....

But now there are only a lot of videos of his memories in our heart....

On Tuesday October 26, 2010 our oracle Paul had passed away....

I have not even ask Paul to help me predict a 4d number, 3D+1 or the biggest win of all; TOTO mega jackpot! What a waste....

Paul's body is now in cold storage while the aquarium decides "how best to mark his passing." well I guess soon the there will be another new successful oracle octopus replacing Paul?? We will just have to find out...

2016 is the END of PMR Exam

0 commented

Nothing much to be said as Deputy Prime Minister had said it all...

The Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) examination for Form Three students will be changed to a school-based assessment beginning 2016, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said.

Malaysian Examination Syndicate will ensure of the school-based assessment carried out fairly and effectively to reflect the students' performance. Although this may be 5 more years to come and anything could change, but I seconded this motion!

UPSR will have a major change in syllabus, but when? We'll see...

RM10,000 Fines for Porn Clips

0 commented

First thing got my notice in Facebook was this:-

Seriously was this comment even necessarily? This is a bad Facebook wall post I've read, posted by a guy who didn't want to accept the facebook friend request from an unknown "female" account eventhough he end up accepting the facebook friend request. HELLOOOO You can click IGNORE!!

We all had been into this kind of situation whereby people add us out of no where (you do not recognise him or her at all) and then you find out that account keeps adding "zap pa lang" people just to get fame, you feel like been used.... But come on, yourself wish to have more friends in Facebook too right? That's why you accepted the request. It all comes down to whether do you really care about what people think about your Facebook account?

RM10,000 Fines for Porn Clips being stored in laptop

Tang Wei Khang from Taman Juru pleaded guilty to committing the offence at J & S Communication Trading sales counter in Megamal Pinang complex, Prai at 8.50pm on Aug 24.

The offence, under Section 5(1)(a) of the Film Censorship Act 2002, is punishable under Section 5(2) of the same Act.

Under the Act, an offender can be slapped with a minimum fine of RM10,000 or a maximum fine of RM50,000 or jailed up to five years or both.

So be reminded not to store pornography videos in your computer or laptop. Or store them but don't get caught?? Because of the piracy gets worse in our country Malaysia, that's why the court have to take action.

Spring Cleaning 2010

0 commented

Today our firm conducted a Spring Cleaning event, it basically means cleaning your new desk. The top managements would come around the department and order you (employees) to start cleaning, clean every spot! The management would do a spot check in between the cleaning just so to make sure you clean every corner.

Walaoooo we had to clean out a lot of waste papers, some of the documents were stayed there for months covered with dusts! What's more to be found is the old audit files under your desk, I don't understand why they want to keep these files (back to 2003) under the desk, maybe they want these files to turn into gold??

Some incident much more funnier was that there was a trainee stuck in the filing room just to help all seniors transfer old audit files, and he was very pissed off, literally was crying and stomping his leg when I asked him to put in 2 more into his list. LOL so I told him, "it's okay, I'll do it myself, you just leave it there." Well he did leave it there and end up I was the one who continue to finish off his work =) I symphatize him because the senior did not concern about his feeling and kept on instructing him!

The cleaning starts from 4pm and it lasted for an hour. After the cleaning there were meals and drinks being served, and I saw the big boss went around and thank the staffs too... These as sign of appreciation from management and our big boss. A better and natural body language of appreciation should be shown towards the staffs, so they would perceived genuine. What's more appreciation being shown by our big boss was that he ordered McDonald as dinner! A lot of appreciations being shown alright....Anyhow it is a great and memorable day.

How to "CATCH" MTV World Stage Passes

5 commented

Are you searching the METHODS to win those MONEY-CAN'T-BUY passes? Welcome to this page because your search is OVER!

The picture beside you means you can start searching for Junior or Bee in MTV website (top and bottom). Continue read so you know there are 2 different COUNTDOWN CLOCKs appearing in MTV....

Remember to check all pages in MTV website because these Junior or Bee will not just appearing at HOME, as it will appear at ABOUT, LINEUP, PHOTOS, VIDEO, FUNSTUFF, and WIN PASSES tabs too. So search all these tabs (above and bottom of the website)..... LOOK CAREFULLY!

And when the CLOCK is still ticking, it means you have to find the Junior or Bee within that period of time and NOT ASK YOU TO WAIT TIL "00:00:00:00"!!

HERE IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "NEXT GIVEAWAY" & "START WIN PASSES" CLOCK

When the COUNTDOWN CLOCK ends at "00:00:00:00" this means your search starts now! You are required to REFRESH the page then only start finding Junior and Bee....When the "Remaining Time Left" clock ends at "00:00:00:00" that means your search is over!
ONCE you know the difference, you should ONLY start searching for JUNIOR or BEE when you see "REMAINING TIME LEFT" this is when you look at top and bottom of the webpages (all 7 tabs)!

After you click the " Junior " you will come to this page where you are required to answer a question. I don't know how was it to be clicking on "bee". So the Q&A, they are multiple choices and you can try your luck to get the answer or you better find out the RIGHT answer ASAP. I don't think there is a time limit to answer this question ( of course I didn't wait for 1 hour later only answer it ) so I suggest you to answer it as soon as possible lah...haha

Then I had answered the question correctly and it will appear.
"CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE WON! A VERIFICATION EMAIL HAS BEEN SENT OUT TO YOU. PLEASE CHECK EMAIL FOR MORE DETAILS."
I have to warn you the heart will be pumping very fast when you answering the questions because you have been eager to win those passes! So calm yourself and think properly, okay? Good!!

An email will be sent to you. It will look like this. Click on the verification link and you will be directed!

This is where you key in your personal details!
WARNING: DO NOT MAKE ANY MISTAKE ON THIS PAGE! Contestants with false or invalid personal particulars will be DISQUALIFIED!

And the end, they will send you the passes on July 26, 2010 and pray to God that the passes don't lost in transit!
MEET YOU THERE IN SUNWAY PYRAMID!!!!!!!!

Most of all, GOOD LUCK to you!

The term and conditions are very important, so please take some time to read it especially the following, while waiting for the countdown!

One (1) entry per person during the Contest Period. Multiple entries will be void and the entrant disqualified. Only entries from individuals will be accepted. Any entry that MTV believes has been made (a) via participation in a syndicate or (b) via any form of machine assisted intervention enabling computer generated multiple entries, will be disqualified. MTV reserves the right to discount multiple entries from the same IP address.

Feel free to ask any questions, I'll do my best to answer.

Goods and Services Tax

0 commented

Everyone is talking about Goods and Services Tax as this is the new tax which will be implemented next year 2011. Many believe it is like sucking blood out of us but Finance Minister and many other tax advisors said this GST (or known as Value Added Tax) is a must in order for the country to grow!

I will let you (readers) be the judge =)

Well simply GST is a consumption tax on imported goods and on supplies of goods and services in the country.

Full story via The Star website

Today Finance Minister (II) Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Mohamad Hanadzlah has announced 40 basic goods and services that will be exempted from the GST to a certain limit.

Here's the list:-

Basic foodstuff (rice, sugar, salt, flour, eggs, meat and chicken)
residential accommodation,
education,
health services,
public transportation and
domestic water (first 35 cubic metres)
and electricity supply (first 200 units)

Of course if you need the full list of the 40 items, you have to wait the Government draft it out. So for now you have the rough idea of how the Government put GST in with the consideration of low-income residents.....We will see how it goes!

Let's See Salary for 2010!!!

0 commented

Well you guys don't have to go around and ask about salary now, because Robert Walters had done that! Since I am in the accounting & finance field so I am going to highlight these field-related jobs!

There is no salary surveyed for those employees with less than 3 years of experience so we just have to estimate less than 3 years of experience salary will be less. The survey was done in Malaysia, so I guess there is a certain accuracy here.

Anyway, here's the list:

Auditor with 3 to 5 years of experiences will have a salary range of RM 46,000 to RM 88,000.
Auditor is who I am now!! Cheers =)

Tax Accountant with 3 to 5 years of experiences will have a salary range of RM 40,000 to RM 65,000.

Accountant with 3 to 5 years of experience will have a salary range of RM 45,000 to RM 72,000.

Proud of Malaysia Tourism

0 commented

Seriously how can you not being proud of being Malaysian when a lot of artists from oversea were made into news along side with Malaysia =) Remember Andy Lau marrying a Malaysian female? Remember that Edison Chan opened a Juice shop in Bangsar and been into Zouk?

How about this news about "Angelica Lee Sin Jie and Hong Kong film director Oxide Pang Chun at the Pangkor Laut Resort off Pangkor Island"??

Though Lee Sin Jie is a Malaysian but Pang Chun is a Hong Kong Director who's gonna marry Lee Sin Jie! Because he is a director, he attracts more artists to come attend his wedding (indirectly promoting Malaysia). TheStar report that Sylvia Chang Ai Jia, Aaron Kwok, Sandy Lam and Gigi Leong are going to attend the wedding.

--------------------

Ok that's the good thing happening in Malaysia, but you did heard from our Prime Minister Najib saying that our country had been mostly complained about BAD TOILET!! Yes BAD TOILET is the TOP!!

So now some people gotten CREATIVE by installing a hidden pinhole camera at petrol kiosk in Ipoh. The camera was equipped with battery and a 256MB memory card. Attention to all female to becareful about "holes" and "wires" in toilet because you never know what is hidden until it is too late....

Unecessary Traffic Congestion!

0 commented

OMG la....Just because a small accident at the opposite road, our Malaysian drivers become tortoise driver making the road congested for no good reason except "concerning" the accident....

Come on! Focus on the road and drive!

Let the relevant authorities handle the situation and stop wasting the other drivers' (eg Samseiko) precious time! I was in a hurry to get to my destination and these viewers who doesn't stop at the side of the road and help the accident, instead they create more traffic jam! If you can't help, DO NOT CAUSE MORE TROUBLE!

What a bad day....Earlier on, in the office where I was supposed to do presentation but in the end boss had a quick meeting(2 hours) and made my presentation postponed to another week! GRR!!!GREAT!

Well life isn't much smoother than we thought....

Debit Card is TAX FREE!!

0 commented

There are a lot of rumours saying that every cards no matter debit or credit cards, you will be charged RM 50 service tax! I was very surprised and worried that if this happened, then I might have to cancel off my Public Bank Visa Electron Debit Card. Fortunately, the news has cleared off all the doubts, I will continue to swipe my Debit Card with care-free =P Swipe to the limit of my deposited amount of course!

Via TheStar:
The Association of Banks in Malaysia said other cards not included were closed community charge cards used at workplaces, schools and clubs, as well as loyalty and e-money cards like Touch ’n Go.

“The service tax will be collected by banks and other card issuers from credit and charge cardholders and paid to the Customs and Excise Director-General.

“In this respect, the amount of service tax payable will be set out in the cardholders’ monthly statement separately,” it said in a statement yesterday.

The association added that the tax was chargeable when the credit or charge card was issued, on the anniversary date or upon renewal.

The tax will not be charged for replacement cards issued in connection with lost or spoilt cards and fraud.

Starting Jan 1, there will be a service tax of RM50 a year on each principal credit and charge card, and RM25 on each supplementary card as announced in Budget 2010.

UPdated Facts to Know (2)

0 commented

A new survey has been conducted by UKM and now they have published the result! The new finding is that Malaysians below 40 are at risk of having HEART DISEASE....That is the first thing I'm gonna share, the 2nd is a fact that our SPM grading system has CHANGED! There is a new grade call A+!

Malaysians below 40 are at risk of having HEART DISEASE
More young Malaysians below 40 are at risk of getting heart attacks due to poor diet and an unhealthy lifestyle, according to Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre cardiology unit head Assoc Prof Dr Oteh Maskon.

He attributed this to the craving for teh tarik, roti canai, nasi lemak, smoking, and lack of exercise.

“They are at risk of obesity, high blood pressure and diabetes which could lead to heart ailments”, he told reporters after attending a public forum on heart disease at the centre here today.

So it is all come down to our fault for having such risk....Our parents always warn us not to have too much of everything! Maybe we all should always remind ourself about it.. Whatever we're having, it's all related to chemical so we can't avoid having food that is harmful to our body right?? Thus remember not to have too much of everything then it's gonna be okay....

Malaysians temp to have teh tarik, roti canai, and nasi lemak as their breakfast or lunch or maybe during their time out with friends....Thus making these food becoming their daily consumptions....Ask yourself about that!

New grading system in SPM, the A+ grade!
Finally the government wants to update our SPM grading system and it will be implemented this year...It's been a while since a lot of people getting a lot of A's and not many employers appreciate it anymore...A new change is required for the SPM to regain the credibility! A+ to G instead of 1A to 9G....

Once I've Been Asked to Translate "You Tiao"

1 commented

Yes once I've Been Asked to Translate "You Tiao(油条)"! Can you tell me what is it called in English???

My friend said is there a english name for 油条?? Because he had been asked by other uncles and aunties. They flamed him by saying "A degree holder also don't know what is 油条 called in English? What for you study until degree holder!"

That day he asked me back the same thing, but I wasn't able to answer because this English-name 油条 has been heard way too long ago. We know there is a english name and we had heard it before but due to the reason we did not keep on using or recall the word thus we forgotten it....

Can't blame us right? Because we're living in a multiracial country and the 油条 seller don't speak english okay!!!!!

So let me share with you this word for 油条 is " CRULLER "

Cruller meaning extracted from WikiPedia
A traditional cruller (or twister) is a twisted, oblong, fried pastry made of dough somewhat like that of a cake doughnut, often topped with plain powdered sugar; powdered sugar mixed with cinnamon; or icing.

A related song sang by JJ, Dou Jiang You Tiao (豆浆油条), so remember to have cruller with soya =P

A Shock from Sumatra Earthquake

1 commented

A powerful earthquake with 7.9 on the Richter scale hit southern Sumatra at about 6.17pm and Malaysia felt the slight effect... I am not aware of it until I read theStar news online. During that hour, I was on my way back home from all the stressful office work. Did you all felt the tremors???

It seems like Malaysians in Klang Valley, including the KL City Centre had exit from tall buildings! This shows how panic the earthquake(though just slight effect) caused....

In the JayaOne complex here, reports came in of shaking furniture and swaying fixtures.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre issued a tsunami alert for Indonesia, Malaysia, India and Thailand, The Associated Press said.

However, the Malaysian Meteorological Department said it has not issued a warning for Malaysia because it believes the waves will not reach Malaysian shores.
